The West Coast towns of Fox Glacier and Franz Josef were a bit miffed about missing out on hosting the Rugby World Cup so they decided to do something about it.  A conversation in a pub lead to the Glacier Country Cup and an innovative tourism marketing campaign.  The Glacier Country Tourism Group asked Motion Pacific to film a game of rugby being played up on the Tasman Neve so we decided to invite the local community to ’make’ their own mocumentary. The objective of the video was to provide international journalists focusing on New Zealand for the RWC with a unique story that would promote Glacier Country. The film also needed to work as a viral video that would promote a social media competition. The video we created helped Glacier Country secure a $50,000 prize pack from brands such as Heineken, Air New Zealand and Telecom.  To discover more about the social media campaign please visit:
