By embedding photographs and manipulating storylines, users can create mock news stories that are distributed via email or social networking websites. The interactive and viral nature of The Scam Machine helps educate people about online fraud in a fun and entertaining way. The Scam Machine project was created by Sean Lyons at NetSafe, with website functionality by Supply and video production by Motion Pacific. NetSafe is a non-profit organisation that provides cybersafety education to New Zealanders.
